From my observations, the main components of a Spanish barbeque are beer, meat and bread. Maybe some calimoxo if you are feeling outlandish. Once we ate a tomato, and there was nearly a riot. So you can understand my astonishment when not only asparagus, but also aubergine and leeks were produced as things to be barbequed.
The prospect of grilled vegetables only added to the perfect conditions for a Spring barbeque – 20 degrees, a roof terrace overlooking the town, the right amount of friends to be able to chat easily, a hilarious cat. Here’s to many more!
