13/3/13 – Se Alquila

No fewer than 7 “For Rent” signs were posted outside this apartment block in the upscale neighbourhood of Puerta de Hierro which couldn’t contain more than 25 flats. If anyone needed a representation of the burst housing bubble, the ubiquity of “Se Alquila” signs reflects the extent to which the Spanish bought into the myth that the boom would last forever, so why not buy 2+ flats!

Attended another Guiribloggers event this evening, fewer people attended, but that made for a much more intimate event. Lots of inspiring conversation, and interesting new people to meet! Once again, La Posada del Dragon provided a delicious selection of tapas. I am officially in love with their rabo de toro, but no appearance of their weird soap desserts. If I didn’t have a photo, I would think I dreamed it.
